The Cornfield Project, funded by Kew Gardens ‘Grow Wild’, is running two public consultation evenings next Tuesday (5th April) at Ballysally Primary School from 7-8pm and Wednesday (6th April) at Millburn Primary School from 7-8pm.

This community based project will involve transforming a currently neglected woodland into a beautiful wildflower and nature space, aiming to engage with people from the Coleraine community and beyond. In November 2015, The Cornfield Project was announced as the Northern Ireland Flagship site for Kew Gardens Grow Wild winning a £120,000 grant. The plans for the site are in place with The Conservation Volunteers currently engaged to develop the site and improve its natural habitat. There will be community training gardens, a wetland area, a sensory garden, wild foraging areas, bird box’s, bat box’s and lots more! Would you be interested in becoming a volunteer? Or just want to hear more about the project? Join us next week at one of our public consultation evenings and learn more about this fantastic opportunity or visit us on Facebook.
